These modifications are the direct result of California’s Senate Bill 54 (SB 54), a landmark piece of environmental legislation enacted to curb single-use waste, with its finalized regulatory framework taking effect in May 2026.

Black and Dark-Colored Plastics

Microwaveable meal trays, sushi container bases, and dark produce trays have traditionally relied on carbon black pigments to achieve their coloring.
